Low-power 32-bit MCUs feature 2 Mbytes of fast flash
The R5F56108 32-bit processor yields 1.65-MIPS/MHz performance and operates at up to 100 MHz. Its CPU core needs just 0.03 mA/MHz, and the entire MCU takes 0.50 mA/MHz. The chip has 2 Mbytes of full-speed flash, 32 Kbytes of data flash with background operation, and 128 Kbytes of RAM.
The IC targets high-end office equipment and digital consumer products and comes in 144-pin LQFP or optional 176-pin BGA packages. It has a 32-bit multiplier, a divider, a barrel shifter, four channels of DMA, four 10-bit A/D converters, a D/A converter, I2C interfaces, and a floating-point processor. (Ea/10,000: in LQFP144, $9.53; in BGA176, $9.83 samples available now.)
