The WD Re+ (WD6005FRPZ) HDD offers 6 Tbyte capacity, while consuming just 6 W. Intended for datacenter applications, the drive is said to have the lowest power consumption of any high-capacity 3.5-inch hard drive available.
The unit uses SATA 6 Gbits/s with native command queuing and sustained sequential data rates of up to 225 Mbytes/s. It has a 128 Mbyte buffer and 5,760 rpm rotational speed with an MTBF of 1,200,000 hours. The drive handles 600,000 load/unload cycles, and operates over -40° to 70°C. Samples available Q2.
