Low-power MCUs have analog signal-chain

Targeting low-cost portable medical products, the MSP430FG477, MSP430FG478, and MSP430FG479 16-bit MCUs provide super-low power and the optimum analog peripherals. The chips’ signal chains include two configurable op amps, a 12-bit D/A converter, a comparator, and a 16-bit sigma-delta A/D converter.

The ICs have up to 60 Kbytes of flash and 2 Kbytes of RAM, USCI/ I2 C/SPI serial, and a 128-segment LCD driver. They take only 262 µA at 1 MHz / 2.2 V, 1.1 µA in standby, and 0.1 µA in RAM retention mode. The devices come in BGA113 and QFP80 packages and work at –40° to 85°C.
