Low-power modems support worldwide protocols
A low-power family of V.32/V.32bis modem devices supports data, fax, and
voice functions. The family comprises the RC96DPL/144DPL modem data
pumps–which support data rates to 9,600 and 14,400 bits/s, respectively,
and 14,400 bits/s send/receive Group 3 fax–and the RC96ACL/144ACL
integrated modem solutions, which come with controller firmware. The
RC96DPL/144DPL consume 390 mW typ, and 10 mW in sleep mode; the RC96ACL
consumes less than 500 mW. The ACL devices incorporate enhanced AT
commands, facsimile communications-software commands, and MNP 10. The DPL
products come in single 68-pin PLCCs or a set consisting of 80- and
100-pin plastic QFPs. (The RC96DPL/144DPL and RC96ACL/144ACL cost $83,
