The LS6D-1012A-RH low-profile dc/ac inverter drives cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFL) in LCD backlighting applications. Designed specifically for use with 10 to 17-in. industrial-grade LCD panels, the inverter provides dual LCD panel capability and features brightness and backlight on-off control. It suits medical electronics, machine tools, digital signage, point-of-sale kiosks, touchscreen, and test and measurement equipment applications.
The backlight inverter driver provides an input of 12 Vdc and an output current of 3.3 to 6 mA rms per lamp. The device’s CCFL driving circuit includes a self-oscillating Royer circuit to minimize EMI. The inverter provides a total device power output of 5 W per lamp, or 10 W total.
