Magnachip Mixed-Signal, Ltd., a subsidiary of Magnachip Semiconductor Corp., released a one-chip, multi-functional power management integrated circuit (PMIC) and multi-channel level shifter. The GA series PMIC and level shifter regulate different voltages and signals in display panels for IT devices and provide improved efficiency and low power consumption.
The PMIC, developed as a one-chip solution, integrates a variety of components including a built-in controller, switches, logic circuit, two boost regulators and two negative low-dropout regulators. Also included are three high-current regulators for voltage down and two positive op-amps. The I²C serial communications bus enables the solution to control dynamic voltage management, a built-in on/off timer, protection circuits and switching frequency transition.
Thanks to these features, the PMIC enhances efficiency and reduces power consumption in applications, the company said.
Specifically designed to regulate turn-on/off voltages for more than 24 channels and manage voltage signals, the multi-channel level shifter meets the channel requirements of both high-resolution display panels and UHD panels.
