Mark LaPointe Named Director of Sales and Marketing at SMC Diodes

SMC Diodes (Plainview, NY) has named Mark LaPointe as director of sales and marketing as part of its North American expansion. 

 
Mr. LaPointe, who has more than 15 years of experience in the electronics industry, will develop and implement sales and marketing strategies for SMC Diodes. 
Mr. LaPointe previously served as Distribution Manager and Director of Sales and Marketing for the Americas with Zetex Semiconductors until its acquisition by Diodes Inc.  Mr. LaPointe was instrumental in signing Future Electronics to a worldwide distribution agreement and greatly enhanced the Digi-Key sales channel. 
“Mark’s distribution experience will augment SMC Diodes’ intent to build a strong global distribution program”, said SMC Diodes CEO Yunji Corcoran.   
Prior to Zetex, Mr. LaPointe served as product marketing manager for All American Semiconductor.  He also worked as Director of Sales and Marketing for Central Semiconductor.
