MAX1583 – White LED Camera-Flash Boost Converter
The MAX1583 24-V step-up dc/dc converter drives up to five white LEDs in series with a high constant current to provide camera flash/strobe power in cell phones, PDAs, and other handheld devices. The part operates from input voltages of 2.6 to 5.5 V. Features include two logic inputs that control four modes of operation.

The MAX1583X, MAX1583Y, and MAX1583Z offer high, medium, and low current limits, respectively, to allow trade-off between reservoir capacitor size and peak input current. The MAX1583 is available in a 10-pin 3mm x 3mm TDFN package (0.8mm max height).
