The MSP430L092 16-bit microcontroller is said to be the industry’s first true 0.9-V processor. The chip inherently operates at 0.9 V, including the entire analog and digital logic, and does not require an on-chip boost converter, lowering power consumption and reducing the need for external circuitry.
The chip can run off a single-cell battery and comes with up to 2 Kbytes of RAM and a 2-Kbyte ROM. The device’s analog functions pool can serve as an A/D converter, D/A converter, system voltage supervisor, temperature sensor, or comparator, eliminating the need for external components.
