The RH850/C1H 32-bit microcontroller is designed for motor control in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and electric vehicles (EVs). It uses a 40-nm process and has 4 Mbytes of code flash, plus 32 Kbytes of data flash and 128 Kbytes of DRAM.
The chip supports the required fine-grained motor control and functional safety for next-generation vehicles. It features dual resolver interfaces and ISO 26262 support with ECC and lock-step. The MCU has hardware motor control IP cores EMU2 and TSG3 for three types of motor control: sine wave PWM, overmodulation, and square wave. Samples early 2015, $50 each.
