MCU targets high-speed sensor-less motor control

The RL78/G1F 16-bit microcontroller features low power and enhanced peripheral functions for BLDC motor control. It includes a fast 3-phase timer, op amps, and 70 ns comparators to ensure high-speed sensor-less control. The IC features a PWM and auxiliary timer that both operate at up to 64-MHz, a data transfer controller, and an event link controller.

The chip has one or two 8-bit D/A converters, an 8/10-bit resolution A/D converter with up to 17 channels, 32 or 64 Mbytes of flash, and a 4 Kbyte data flash.
