The STM32F405, STM32F407, STM32F415, STM32F417 ARM Cortex M4F based MCUs offer clocking at up to 168 MHz, 210 DMIPS performance, and a floating-point-unit. The MCUs have up to 1 Mbyte of flash, up to 192+4 Kbytes of SRAM, an adaptive real-time accelerator allowing zero wait-state execution from flash, and up to Up to 17 timers/PWM.
The devices typically take 8.7 ma with a 16 MHz clock and all peripherals enabled. They have a 7-layer multi-AHB bus matrix and multi-DMA controllers, which allow concurrent execution and data transfers. The 32F405 has three 12-bit A/D converters, two D/As, serial interfaces, an external memory interface, a RTC, a CRC calculation unit, a analog true random number generator, and a USB OTG port. The 32F407 adds 10/100 Ethernet, IEEE 1588, and a parallel camera interface. The 32F415 and 32F417 parts add a crypto/hash processor with hardware acceleration for AES 128, 192, 256, Triple DES, and HASH. (From $5.74 ea/1,000 — available now.)
