The MCS-2040 Media Cloud Server features extended media processing software and offers 6x the performance of pure software transcoding solutions. The four hot-pluggable compute nodes have dual 4th generation Core i7/i5/i3 or Xeon E3-1200 processors. More than 80% of CPU capacity can be available for customer applications.
The unit targets video applications such as surveillance with video analytics, video conferencing used for remote education & healthcare, and IPTV content delivery networks (CDNs) as a transcoding server. It has two GbE ports for each compute node, up to 128 Gbytes of DDR3, a PCIe slot, 16 RJ45 GbE ports, 16 hot swappable 2.5 inch SATA drive bays, and dual redundant power supplies. All this comes in a 2U 19” form factor.
