Said to be the thinnest device of its kind, the LIS302DLH three-axis 16-bit digital MEMS accelerometer is only 0.75 mm high. Intended for use in ultra-slim handheld products, it shares the 3 x 5-mm footprint of other three-axis devices in the Piccolo MEMS family, with which it is pin-for-pin compatible.
The accelerometer can measure acceleration forces up to ±8 g and outputs its readings in I2C/SPI serial format to permit direct connection to a microprocessor. ($1.35 ea / 10,000+ — samples available now; prod qty 3rd qtr.)
