MEMS VCTCXO with ±0.5-ppm stability is industry’s first

Targeted at telecom, networking, and wireless applications, the programmable, Encore-based SiT5001, SiT5002, SiT5003 and SiT5004 MEMS VCTCXO family is claimed to offer the industry-leading stability of as low as ±0.5 ppm, while supporting frequencies up to 220 MHz. The devices feature 500 fs of integrated rms phase jitter (12 kHz to 20 MHz). They also provide 500 million hour MTBF of best-in-class reliability — claimed 10 times better than quartz and 50,000 g shock and 70 g vibration immunity — also claimed 10 times better than quartz.

The SiT5001 operates over 1 to 80 MHz with stabilities of ±1 to ±5 ppm, the SiT5002 offers 80 to 220 MHz and ±1 to ±5ppm, the SiT5003 and Si5004 are considered ultra-stable devices with ±0.5 ppm stability and operating at 1 to 80 MHz, and 80 to 220 MHz, respectively. Additional specifications include industrial (–40° to 85°C) and commercial temperature (–20° to 70°C) operation and 1.8 V and continuous 2.5- to 3.3-V operation.

All devices offer optional voltage control function, with pull range of ±12.5 to ±50 ppm and up to 6 decimal places of frequency accuracy, that is just not available from quartz TCXOs The SiT500x family is available in industry-standard footprints, enabling 100% drop-in replacement of quartz TCXOs and VCTCXOs with no design changes.
