The CL420 clamp-on process meter can measure 4-20 mAdc process control signals on wires with diameters to 6 mm without breaking the loop. Furthermore, the meter has an analog output that provides a simple way to log or monitor data with an XL120 datalogger, TY500/700 multimeters, or chart recorders.
In its 20-mAdc range, the meter has an accuracy of ±(0.2% of reading + 5 digits) and a resolution of 0.01 mA; the meter also has a 100-mAdc range with an accuracy of ±(1.0% of reading + 5 digits) and resolution of 0.1 mA. Readings are displayed on a back-lit, dual-reading numeric LCD, and built-in functions include data hold, zero adjust, and auto power off. The unit can also function as an LED flashlight. Without lighting, operating time is 60 hrs from the supplied four AA batteries; other accessories provided with the meter include a carrying case and an instruction manual. Analog output cables with banana plugs or screw terminals are optional. (MSRP $625 — available now from distributors and reps.)
