The ADE5169 and ADE5569 single-chip metering devices target the increasingly sophisticated networks used by today’s energy suppliers. The ICs feature 62 Kbytes of flash and 2.3 Kbytes of RAM, an energy measurement core with A/D conversion and a DSP, an 8052 MCU, an LCD driver, a temperature compensated RTC, two UARTs, an SPI interface, and intelligent battery management.
In battery mode, current consumption is reduced to 1.5 µa or 27 µa with the LCD operating. The ADE51xx differs from the ADE55xx by offering two current inputs for anti-tampering detection and billing and both come in a 64-lead LQFP packages and run at 2.4 to 3.7 V.
