Microchip’s PIC16F1578 can be configured for closed loop feedback control

This post is sponsored by Microchip Technology

The Microchip PIC16F1578 microcontroller features an enhanced mid-range core with flash program memory, self-read/write capability, and extraordinary flash endurance and speed (100,000 writes per minute). Designed for applications where high resolution is needed (LED lighting, stepper motors, power supplies, etc.), Microchip’s PIC16F1578 is an extremely versatile MCU.

PIC16F1578
The PIC16F1578 delivers four 16-bit PWMs with independent timers. The core independent peripherals (the PWMs and complementary waveform generator) and analog (ADCs, comparators and DAC) can be configured for closed loop feedback control or other application needs. It is distinguished from other MCUs in Microchip’s 157x family by offering 7Kb program flash memory, up to 512 bytes of SRAM, 18 I/O pins, two comparators, and a pin count of 20, among other features.

Also worth noting — the PIC16F1578 operates within a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, and offers an operating voltage range of 1.8 to 5.5.
