The PIC16F1579 microcontroller from Microchip combines a 16-bit PWM drive with closed-loop control and high-end communication capabilities in a small form factor.

PIC16F1579 So many unique features provides the today’s design engineers with  increased precision for drive and control in cost-sensitive applications where high resolution is needed, including LED lighting, stepper motors, power supplies, and more.

The PIC16F1579 is further distinguished from other MCUs by offering 14Kb program flash memory, up to 1,024 bytes of SRAM, 18 I/O pins, two comparators, and a pin count of 20.

Among the PIC16F1579’s other features are 2 x 8-bit and 5 x 16-bit timers, and 1 UART digital communication peripheral.

This tiny MCU’s peripheral pin select (PPS) functionality allows for I/O pin remapping of the digital peripherals for increased flexibility. In addition, the PIC16F1579 MCU features Microchip’s eXtreme Low Power (XLP) technology, offering operating currents as low as 30 μA/MHz and sleep currents as low as 20 nA — a rating that is ideal for lower-power applications.
