Microcontroller with Arcnet protocol
The COM20051 8-bit microcontroller combines the 8051 architecture with
the Arcnet protocol engine now used in the company's COM20020 series. The
44-pin part is pin-compatible with the ROMless 8032, using four previously
unused pins for network links. These pins connect directly to a
bus-connected Arcnet engine, making simple Arcnet control nodes
price-competitive with LONworks nodes. Any standard 80C32 emulator can be
used for development. Network capability can be added to existing
8032-based equipment without redesign. A C library, Controlink, has
drivers for 8051 and x86 instruction sets. The library provides Arcnet
with transparent access to other network protocols. (COM20051, $15.31
