Mini connector and cable assembly delivers high density

ODU has released the ODU AMC high-density, chrome-plated miniature connector and integrated silicone cable assembly solution in the U.S. market. The compact and lightweight solution offers a variety of high-density signal configurations and custom versions for power, up to 15 A, and high-speed data transmission.

The chrome-plated surface makes these connector solutions highly robust, according to ODU. They are available in a variety of flavors, including autoclavable versions, high-density configurations, and different sizes. Other features include watertight protection of IP6K8, up to 2 meters, and high-speed data transfer capability, including USB 3.2 Gen 1×1, USB 2.0, and HDMI. (These ODU connectors can transmit these common data transmission protocols, but they are not USB- and HDMI-standard connectors.)

For harsh applications prone to extreme mechanical and chemical conditions, the new silicone-over-molded technology used in ODU’s cable assemblies offers an easy-to-clean, no-stick-slip effect, and bend protection, said the company. The new solution can be used in medical, test and measurement, and industrial applications.
