The TransGuard 0201 Series miniature multilayer varistors (MLV) now include 125- and 150-pF versions, expanding the overall capacitance range from 10 to 150 pF, said to be the broadest on the market. The series can withstand up to 1,000 strikes at 8 kV of contact and feature a sub 1-ns response time to ESD strikes.
The varistors also feature a 5.6-V rating and have a leakage current of ≤5 µA at rated voltage. The single-chip bidirectional MLVs reduce board space and suit small handheld devices. (From $0.005 to $0.024, depending on volume — stock to 10 weeks ARO.)
