MKV capacitors are enhanced for PFC

The B25836 Series MKV capacitors for power factor correction now cover voltages from 400 to 800 V and powers from 5 to 30 kvar. Enhanced technical parameters and specifications include inrush-current-handling capability up to 500 x IR , overcurrent-handling capability up to 3 x IR depending on capacitor type, and average operating life up to 3 million hours at temperature class of –40°C.

The number of switching operations is now a maximum of 20,000/year, which satisfies IEC 60831-1+/2, and a maximum of 50,000/year when standard PFC reactors are used, which satisfies IEC 60831-1+/2. These improvements have already been implemented in currently available types. (From $99 to $249 — 12 weeks ARO.)
