MLCCs feature a flexible polymer layer

The AEC-Q200-compliant GCJ series for automotive applications and the GRJ series for consumer applications are soft-termination MLCCs that feature a conductive polymer layer to reduce cracks caused by bending stress. Applied after the innermost copper layer, the polymer provides elasticity in the terminations to absorb mechanical stress.

Based on the GCM and GRM series, the GRJ series offers 250-V, 630-V, and 1-kV rated voltages and the GCJ series offers 10, 16, 25, 50, and 100 V. The standard EIA size for the GRJ is 1206, while the GCJ comes in sizes 0603, 0805, 1206, and 1210. (Samples pricing for the GCJ 0603/0.1 µF/50 V is $0.05; GCJ 1210/0.1 µF/250 V is $0.11 and GRJ 1206/0.1 µF/250 V is $0.09 — 10 to 14 weeks ARO.)
