Modules automate audio, power analysis for embedded systems
Scope add-ons for audio said to be the first units of their kind, while power modules offer one-button testing
Addressing key challenges facing embedded-system designers — integrating of digital audio and improving power efficiency — the DPOxAUDIO and DPOxPWR modules are designed to automate key measurement and analysis tasks on digital audio buses and switch-mode power supplies, respectively, thereby enabling engineers to more quickly troubleshoot and debug their designs for a faster time to market. The modules are designed to work with the MSO/DPO4000 and DPO3000 oscilloscopes.
The DPOxAUDIO modules are said to be the industry’s first triggering and analysis module for digital audio serial buses. They instantly decode the protocol of common serial buses such as I2 S and TDM, presenting the waveform and decoded data packets time-aligned on the scope display. The modules also provide the ability to automatically trigger on, and then search for, specific packet-level content.
The DPOxPWR power analysis modules automate measurements so that pressing one button performs such tests as power quality, switching loss, harmonics, safe operating area, modulation, ripple, and slew rate; they also simplify probe de-skewing. The power modules are also available bundled with probes, adapters, and de-skewing hardware in a convenient carrying case. (DPOxPWR, from $1,290; DPOxAUDIO, from $990; power bundles, from $7,320 — available now.)
