Molex has expanded its SlimStack family of floating board-to-board connectors with two new space-saving lines. The SlimStack 0.40-mm floating connectors are touted as one of the smallest in the market and offer a large floating range and high-speed transmission for automotive, industrial, and consumer applications. Also providing a large floating range, the 1.25-mm-pitch SlimStack floating connectors provide high contact reliability, prevent fretting corrosion, and offer high-vibration resistance, making them well-suited for car column switches.
Key features of the SlimStack 0.40-mm floating connector:
- Low halogen housing material
- A ±0.50-mm floating range (in three directions) that eases misalignment
- A soft floating force
- Operating temperature up to 125°C
- High-speed transmission rate of 6 Gbits/s
Key features of the SlimStack 1.25-mm-pitch floating connectors:
- A spring design that prevents fretting corrosion, increases contact reliability, and is vibration-resistant
- Wide floating range (in three different directions) reduces the PWB gap and eases assembly
- Soft floating force
- Improved contact design
- 125-V voltage rating
- 1.0-A current rating
- 10-cycle durability
The SlimStack board-to-board connectors offer a variety of mated heights and circuit sizes. Target applications include automotive, industrial, medical, and mobile devices.
