Mono 3.2-W Class D amp integrates input coupling capacitors
The 3.2-W MAX98314 mono, Class D amplifier is offered as the first with integrated input coupling capacitors. Based on the company’s 3D integration technology, the 1 x 1-mm part saves at least 25% board space for mobile applications. The amp offer active emissions limiting edge rate and overshoot control circuitry.
The device offers five selectable gain settings (0, 3, 6, 9, and 12 dB) set by a single gain-select input (GAIN). Additional features include a low-noise of 19 µV, and a quiescent current of 0.95 mA at 3.7 V and 1.2 mA at 5.0 V. Housed in a 9-bump, 0.3-mm pitch WLP package, the part offers click-and-pop suppression, thermal and overcurrent protection. (Contact company for pricing and availability.)
