Motherboard chip for noncached systems
The VL82C311-33 system controller is aimed at midrange 33-MHz noncached
systems based on the AMD 33-MHz 386SX. It requires a few TTL buffers, and
includes two DMA controllers, memory mapper, two programmable interrupt
controllers, interval timer, clock generator, ready interface, and bus
controller. It can drive four memory banks without external buffers. A
similar chip, the VL82C333 supports the company's VL82C325 SX cache
controller. (Low teens in volume–samples now.) VLSI Technology Inc.
