Motor/driver combo promises space and cost reductions
Integrated hybrid motor and microstepping driver simplifies machine designs
Offered in two models, the PRO Series integrates a microstepping driver and a NEMA 17 42-mm hybrid motor, providing a more-compact, lower-priced option than using discrete parts. The devices suit space-limited machine applications such as medical technologies and semiconductor manufacturing. Attached drive electronics can also remove the need to run motor-power-management cabling through the machine, reducing the potential for electrical noise.
The PRO 42AP offers a 1/500-microstep resolution, while the PRO 42BP provides 1/8 microstepping. RoHS compliant, the motor/drivers provide accurate open-loop control for high performance positioning applications.
The motors are available in case lengths of 40, 48, and 60 mm. Depending on the case length, the devices offer maximum holding torques (bipolar) from 300 to 440 mNm. Precision-honed stators and ground rotors provide tight air gap and maximum performance; and simple, rugged, ball-bearing construction provide high reliability and long service life. An attached encoder is optional on both models. (In 40-mm case size: PRO42BP, $171; PRO42AP, $241—available now.)
