Mouser Electronics, Inc., regarded as a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, is shifting into high gear as Tony Kanaan, driver of the #11 IndyCar, prepares for the Indianapolis 500, the granddaddy of American car racing, set for Sunday, May 26.

Kanaan finished 3rd at Indianapolis last year behind the wheel of the #11 Mouser car and hopes are high for a strong finish this year. The race at the Brickyard, as the Indianapolis track is known, dates back to 1909. It is the most prestigious race on the IndyCar calendar, and is one of the oldest and most important automobile races in the world. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is an oval circuit with 200 laps run counterclockwise around the circuit for a distance of 500 miles.

“We're looking forward to watching Tony drive in the legendary Indy 500,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Vice President of Business Development. “Tony excels on the oval track and we're confident that he will fight hard to reach a podium victory for his fans. He is a favorite going into this year's race.”

The company first sponsored IndyCar in 2011 as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies and how they affect the high-tech world of IndyCar racing. Since every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into an IndyCar is all about precision and gaining a performance edge out on the track, IndyCar provides the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading manufacturers.
