Mouser and NASCENTechnology Enter Distribution Agreement

Partnership expands lineup of inductors and transformers for harsh environments.

January 16, 2013 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. today announced a new distribution agreement to partner with NASCENTechnology, a leader in the development of multi-layer ceramic transformers and inductors.

NASCENTechnology's leadership in emerging technologies and new product development will allow Mouser to expand its line of passive components for harsh environments.

NASCENTechnology has created a new Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic (LTCC) technique that has dramatically changed transformer and inductor technology.  This new multi-layer LTCC technique actually embeds the coil windings into the ferrite creating a hermetically sealed, monolithic ceramic core that is a fraction of the size of traditional wire-wound transformers. These self-shielded, highly reliable devices are able to survive extremely high temperatures and are resistant to extreme shock and vibration. “NASCENTechnology's innovative products are a fresh new approach to the design of magnetics,” states Andy Kerr, Mouser's Vice President of Passives. “These products are ideally suited for market segments such as Medical, Transportation, Aerospace, and Industrial to name a few.”

“With a keen focus on the needs and challenges of the design engineer, Mouser is a perfect fit for our company,” says Daryl Schofield, GM and VP of NASCENTechnology. “As the demand for emerging technology continues to grow, we are confident that this partnership will bring great advantage to both companies.”

About NASCENTechnology
NASCENTechnology designs and manufactures multi-layer ceramic transformers for defense, medical, and energy exploration applications.Their Low Temperature Co-Fired Ceramic (LTCC) processing technique allows NASCENTechnology to combine the magnetic material and the transformer winding packing into one integrated unit. The result is a very flat multilayer structure with a very small footprint – a miniature monolithic transformer in which bobbins, core and magnet wire are all eliminated. For over 14 years, NASCENTechnology has invested in the materials, design, layout, and manufacturing of LTCC transformers using revolutionary ferrite LTCC technology.
