January 30, 2013 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. has announced the winners of the competitions it organized at Electronica 2012, several in conjunction with its suppliers.
With Texas Instruments, visitors had the opportunity to enter a competition to win a Parrot Drone 2.0, which can be controlled by iPod touch, iPhone, iPad, and Android Devices. The three winners were: Oliver Heckel, R&D Engineer with Rockwell Automation Germany GmbH & Co.KG, Wuppertal (Germany); Helmut Juchems, Group Manager Engineering Hardware at Lancom Systems GmbH, Würselen (Germany); and Maximilian Habersbrunner, a student at the University of Technology München (Germany).
Per Arvidsson, Senior Electronic Engineer withTobii Technology AB, Danderyd (Sweden) won a Nintendo 3DS XL in a competition co-sponsored by hi-rel connector maker, Harwin, and Nadja Kiefer, Electrical Engineering Technician, Product Engineering at Valve Electronics Moog GmbH, Böblingen (Germany) won a HDO4000 oscilloscope with high-end instrument company, LeCroy.
In addition, Electronica visitors and users of www.mouser.com had the opportunity to enter to win tickets for two to an IndyCar race in the USA by subscribing to the Mouser newsletter. The prize package – including flights, accommodation, and tickets for the June 8th, 2013 race at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas – was won by Nathan Croft, Research Design & Development at Dyson Ltd., Malmesbury, UK. He explained that he attended Electronica as a “Technology Scout” looking for the new technologies, spending most of his time “walking around the small stalls and talking with individuals that are passionate about their products. I always come away from Electronica with aching feet, a head full of ideas and a hand full of technology and business leads that may make a difference”, he added.
As well as the IndyCar race day prize, visitors were invited to use the IndyCar simulator, and every day, the visitor with the fastest circuit of the day won a Kindle.
The winners were: Mario Kohl, Projektleiter, Pulvertechnologie at the Fraunhofer Institut für Fertigungstechnik und Angewandte Materialforschung (IFAM), Bremen (Germany); Jan Soltau, R&D Teamleader at Vossloh-Schwabe Deutschland GmbH, Technology Center Slovakia, Trnava (Slovakia); Bojan Sandurkov, a student of electrical engineering and information technology at the Technical University of Munich; and Andre Bethke, Electronic Engineer/Hardware Development (Hobbyist) at Media Markt in Hamburg.
