Mouser Electronics, Inc. is pleased to once again partner with valued supplier Molex to support the KVSH Racing Technology #11 IndyCar at this year's Verizon IndyCar Series. With two strong wins this season, Sebastien Bourdais is well positioned for a strong finish Aug. 30 behind the wheel of the Mouser-sponsored #11 IndyCar at the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma, the final race of the season.
Bourdais is eighth in the individual driver standings with two wins and 386 points. The French driver dominated the second half of the Wisconsin 250 at the Milwaukee Mile on July 12, pulling away from the field on a late restart and beating Helio Castroneves to the finish line by 2.236 seconds. It was the second win of the season for Bourdais, and the milestone 34th victory of his career — tying him with Al Unser Jr. for seventh on the all-time victory list.
The Verizon IndyCar Series Championship will be decided on a road course: a twisting 12-turn, 2.52-mile path at Sonoma Raceway. The series championship has come down to the last race each year since 2006, and with double points on the line at Sonoma, a solid performance will be more important than ever.
The Mouser-sponsored car won the Indy 500 in 2013, and Bourdais' two wins this year has increased hopes for an exciting conclusion to the racing season.
“This has been an action-packed season so far, and we are thrilled to be part of it again, teaming up with KVSH Racing Technology and Molex,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Electronics' Vice President, Americas Business Development. “Bourdais is racing hot right now, and he is in a good position heading into this final race. Our outstanding partnerships with Molex and KVSH Racing are a testament to our commitment to speed, performance and excellence, both on and off the racetrack.”
“We're excited to partner with Mouser again to support KVSH Racing Technology in the upcoming Grand Prix of Sonoma,” said Fred Bell, Vice President of Global Distribution for Molex. “Like Mouser, Molex is committed to high-performance technologies, and motorsports is a great way to help get the Molex brand in front of design engineers who are also racing fans. We appreciate the opportunity for Molex to be involved in such a high technology sporting event.”
Mouser first sponsored IndyCar in 2011 as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies and how they affect the high-tech world of IndyCar racing. Because every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into an IndyCar is all about precision and gaining a performance edge out on the track, IndyCar provides the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading manufacturer, Molex.
