Mouser Team Cheers on Kanaan at Milwaukee Mile IndyFest

All eyes are on the 2013 Indy 500 Champ who placed 2nd at last year’s Milwaukee Mile

Mouser Electronics, Inc., a top design engineering resource and global distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, is gearing up to support Tony Kanaan at this weekend's Milwaukee Mile IndyFest on Saturday, June 15 in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Kanaan is riding the momentum wave after last weekend's outstanding third place finish in Saturday's Firestone 550 Race at Texas Motor Speedway and his historic victory at the Indianapolis 500 race over Memorial Day weekend. The Brazilian driver is now ranked fourth place in the season standings.

“We're fourth in the championship and we think we can keep up the momentum from the win at Indianapolis going forward,” Kanaan told IndyCar.com.

Mouser is an official partner of the 2013 KV Racing Technology #11 IZOD IndyCar Series team. This year's valued co-sponsors include TTI, Inc, Sager, Amphenol, Bivar, ebm-papst, Fluke, Hammond Manufacturing, Harwin, LEMO, Molex, Murata, NKK Switches, Ohmite, and Phoenix Contact.

“Tony is having a great season and we're so happy for him,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Vice President of Business Development. “All of us here at Mouser, along with his fans, will be watching him closely this weekend as this Milwaukee oval track race has been very good to him. He won two in a row at Milwaukee in 2006-07 and placed second there last year.

“Mouser welcomed the Indy 500 winner to its corporate headquarters last week prior to the Firestone 550 amid an enthusiastic crowd of hundreds of citizens, racing fans, employees, suppliers, media and city officials. Hundreds lined Mouser Way in Mansfield to catch a glimpse of the beloved IndyCar champ who arrived on Mouser's campus in grand style by helicopter. Led by a police escort and the Mansfield Legacy High School Marching Band, a car procession featuring a classic Cadillac convertible and Packard Roadster then drove Kanaan and his wife Lauren, along with Mouser President and CEO Glenn Smith and Mansfield Mayor David Cook through the cheering crowds to the stage in front of Mouser's entrance for the public ceremony. Mayor Cook presented Kanaan with the key to the city and proclaimed June 6th as Tony Kanaan Day in Mansfield.

Mouser first sponsored IndyCar in 2011 as an innovative way to communicate its performance-driven business model and promote the newest technologies and how they affect the high-tech world of IndyCar racing. Since every advanced, sophisticated component that goes into an IndyCar is all about precision and gaining a performance edge out on the track, IndyCar provides the perfect vehicle to build top-of-mind awareness for Mouser and its industry-leading manufacturers.

The 2013 IZOD IndyCar series features 19 races. The IndyCar series travels next to the Iowa Speedway on June 23. For the latest updates on the 2013 season, visit http://www.mouser.com/indy-racing/.
