The nonvolatile MR2A08 and MR0A08 MRAM memories feature byte-wide organization, and the 16-bit MR2A16 comes in a small-footprint BGA package compatible with low-power SRAMs. MRAM chips store data using magnetic polarization rather than electric charge and have fast 35-ns read/write cycle times.
The 4-Mbit MR2A08 asynchronous device is organized as 512 Kwords x 8 bits and the 1-Mbit MR0A08 is 128 Kwords x 8 bits. The 3.3-V devices operate at optional temperature ranges up to –40° to 125°C. (Ea/10,000: 1-Mbit MR0A08AYS35, $8.08; 4 Mbit, MR2A08AYS35 or MR2A16AMA35, $14.25 — samples available now.)
