MSOs offer up to 20-GHz analog BW, logic-channel resolution of 80 ps

Said to be the industry’s first family of high-performance integrated mixed-signal oscilloscopes, the MSO70000 Series offers up to five times more bandwidth and five times better timing resolution than the fastest integrated MSOs currently available. The series consists of six models that provide four analog channels with bandwidths of 4, 6, 8, 12.5, 16, or 20 GHz. The lower bandwidth MSOs have an analog sample rate of 25-Gsample/s and record length of 125 Mpoints while the high BW instruments have a 50-Gsample/s rate and 250-Mpoint memory. All units have 16 2.5-GHz-BW logic channels that provide timing resolution of 80 ps,

The instruments are especially suited for debug and verification of high-speed embedded designs and digital RF. Unique differential active probes ensure high signal fidelity, and a full set of solder-in probe accessories make connecting to vias and fine pitch components on tightly packed boards easier, with BGA interposers for all DDR3 and DDR2 components.

iCapture technology allows internal routing of user-selected digital signals to the analog channels for complete evaluation. User-combinable triggering capabilities include serial pattern, mixed analog/digital, logic pattern, and bus state. Over 30 software suites support essential types of analysis: I2C and SPI bus, jitter and eye diagram, DDR memory bus verification, EQ/channel emulation, and frequency domain. (4-GHz unit, $67,400; 20-GHz, $174,000; differential probe, $5,960; general-purpose logic probe, $2,150 available this qtr.)
