The QorIQ LS1088A eight core, and LS1048A four core communications processors use 1.5 GHz 64-bit Cortex-A53 cores and feature second-generation datapath acceleration architecture (DPAA2) – providing the processing resources necessary for flexible virtualized networks. They have two 10-Gbit/s and eight 1-Gbit/s I/Os with XAUI/XFI/KR and SGMII.
The devices advanced I/O processor yields 10 Gbit/s complex packet processing and SEC crypto acceleration. The ICs have x4 PCIe Gen 3 and a 64-bit DDR4 SDRAM memory controller with ECC. They take only 10 to 15 W and are supported by a powerful software toolkit with Linux that provides a higher level of hardware abstraction and makes software development relatively easy.
