Multicore SHARC DSP +ARM SOC takes only 2 W

The ADSP-SC589/ADSP-21587 DSPs have two enhanced 450 MHz SHARC+ cores yielding 24 giga-floating-point ops/s and advanced FFT, FIR, IIR offload engines. The SC589 version adds a 450 MHz Cortex-A5 CPU, PCIe, a 1-Gbit AVB/1588 Ethernet MAC, and a 10/100 Ethernet MAC.

Each DSP has 640 Kbytes of L1 cache, plus an additional 256 Kbytes of RAM and 512 kBytes of flash. They require under 2 W and can operate at 105°C. Both chips have a crypto hardware accelerator and a powerful DMA system, handling up to 1.8 Gbytes/sec. They come in a 19 × 19 mm BGA529 package and have digital audio, USB 2.0, SPI, CAN, and ePWM interfaces. Various versions are available priced from $17.00 ea./10,000.
