The SH7723/SH-MobileR2 multimedia host processor targets personal navigation devices, portable media players, and video/voice over IP terminals. Its core operates at up to 400 MHz, yielding 720 MIPS, and it has a 64 Kbyte primary and 256 Kbyte secondary cache memory.

The BGA449 packaged chip features a multi-CODEC video processing function that supports H.264/MPEG-4 video compression and a 2-D graphics accelerator for map rendering.
