The FSSD06 two-port multiplexer allows 1- and 4-bit host controllers to communicate with high-voltage (2.7 to 3.6-V) and dual-voltage (1.65 to 1.95-V, 2.7 to 3.6-V) cards. The chip allows Secure Digital (SD), Secure Digital I/O (SDIO), and Multimedia Card (MMC) host controllers to be expanded to multiple cards or peripherals. It targets multifunctional portable applications such as GPS devices, cell phones, digital cameras, and MP3 players.
The secure-data, two-port multiplexer enables a 1.8-V host processor to interface with high-voltage and dual-voltage cards, providing seamless, bi-directional communication while consuming only 1 µA. It comes in a 3.5 x 4.5-mm MLP24 package. ($1.36 ea/1,000—samples available now.)
