Murata has released a series of miniaturized DC panel meters for industrial and laboratory voltage and current measurement applications. The DMR35 series, comprised of ammeters and voltmeters, is powered from a 9-32 VDC external power source.
The family of DC panel meters provides a unique bar-graph display of up to 3-1/2 digits along with a traditional numeric panel meter. Designed to fit into a 2.25” mounting hole, the devices are a mechanical drop-fit replacement for many analog panel meters. They offer IP66 environmental protection at the front mounting surface when used with the combined gasket.
An exclusive feature is a bar-graph readout coupled with the digital absolute value that provides a fast response, analog-like movement to help in rapidly changing measurements, said Murata.
Key features of the panel meter series include a +/-48 V common-mode input range, 0.8% measurement accuracy, a precision internal shunt resistor for increased accuracy, and user adjustable display brightness. They also offer low current consumption, 37 mA typical at 12 VDC.
Offering selectable current measurement ranges, the ammeters can be configured for current measurements from 50 µA to 25 A with internal shunt resistors and 5-500 A for external. The voltmeters, with selectable voltage measurement, offer a DC measurement range from 0 to 50 Vdc or +/-5 V and +/-50 Vdc.
The DMR35 family is enclosed in a rugged polycarbonate housing that is mountable in a round hole using supplied screws. They target laboratory instrumentation, factory automation, and other applications that precise DC current and voltage monitoring.
