Software developers at Applanta and DigiTrax Entertainment have teamed with Peavey Electronics to create an awesome technical methodology to learn guitar.
The application, Play A Tab, provides a new and improved way to learn to play guitar. This app for guitarists-in-training has mirror-image chord tablature, music with scrolling chords, and personalized instruction videos.
The guitarist can select from over 50 lessons that are enclosed within the app. Users can access a chord library, and there are lyric-prompted songs that players can learn from. The techning method is based on Associative Sequence Learning (ASL) that is in concurrence with mirror-neuron research.
In a press release, General Manager of Peavey Electronics Tony Moscal stated, “We want to create lifelong relationships with new guitar owners so it’s crucial to help them get through the initial learning curve.” The company hopes that this app will speed up the first steps of picking up an instrument, enabling new musicians to progress at a rapid speed.
When new tracks are available in the app, the system automatically downloads the updates.
Play A Tab is downloadable for iPhone and iPad from the iTunes store.
