National Semiconductor Introduces Industry's First Extended Temperature LVDS Transmitter and Receiver Family
National Semiconductor has introduced five new extended temperature single and dual transmitters and receivers to the company’s industry-leading portfolio of low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) products.
LVDS Transmitters, Receivers Deliver 400 Mbps of Performance in Extreme Environments
General-purpose LVDS physical layer devices (PHYs) are optimized for driving signals through cable harnesses in systems operating in harsh, high-temperature environments, such as automotive, industrial and military applications.
Designers of high-performance industrial systems were once limited to lower-speed communication standards like RS-485 and CAN for data transport. National’s new extended temperature LVDS PHYs will enable ten times the level of performance of lower-speed communication standards, driving data rates up to 400 Mbps over cables in very hot and electro-magnetically noisy environments.
