New version of Raspberry Pi board is ready

The Raspberry Pi B+ board, which marks a significant change to the multi-million selling credit card-sized computer, is now available. Priced at $35, the new board offers more sensors and accessory inputs and advanced power management.

The 85.6 x 53.98 mm card can now power four USB accessories with up to 1.2 A total current. It now has a 40-pin extended GPIO and is based on the same Broadcom BCM2835 chipset and 512 Mbytes of RAM as the previous model. The card is powered by micro USB with AV connections through either HDMI or a new four-pole connector replacing the existing analogue audio and composite video ports. The SD card slot has been replaced with a micro-SD.
