NFC transceiver offers lowest power

Ideal for infrastructure devices, the TRF7970A nearfield communication (NFC) transciever extends battery life up to two times longer than competitive products, as it provides eight selectable power modes ranging from less than 1 µA in power-down mode to 120 mA in full-power mode. The transceiver comes with easy-to-configure software to help developers get started quickly.

The device supports a wide range of communication options with peer-to-peer communication, reader/writer capability, and card emulation. It also supports two crystal oscillator frequencies: 13.56 or 27.12 MHz. (TRF7970A NFC development kit, $99 — available now.)
