NI FIRST Embedded Robotics Controller Set to Be Unveiled Aug. 8

National Instruments (NI)  and FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) will unveil  a next-generation embedded robotics controller (code-named “Athena”) at the annual NIWeek conference on Thursday, Aug. 8. NI wiil equip participants in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) with the controller that they will start using in 2015. When paired with NI LabVIEW system design software, this rugged reconfigurable controller will enable students to design real robotics systems faster than ever.

At the NIWeek conference, the FIRST “Athena” Showcase will reveal the technical details and improved functionality the new controller will offer future FRC teams. Numerous FRC teams from across Texas will attend the session, and Don Bossi, President of FIRST and key members of the NI Research and Development team will discuss the product details and added benefits of the powerful new controller.
