The Smart VHT module nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery modules meet the needs of off-grid photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy systems. The NiMH technology has a failure resistance and temperature tolerance of 3 to 5 times better than lead-acid technology.
The battery modules are optimized to minimize water and energy consumption. They can integrate charge/discharge management, battery condition logging and accurate state-of-health indicator designs and do not need separate PV controllers. The modules are available in 12-, 24-, and 36–V versions in 10–Ah capacity increments (up to 80 Ah).
