The digital potentiometer is a pin-for-pin replacement for Intersil’s X9315, but offers the added choice of the very small 2 x 2.5-mm TDFN package. The CAT5114 is also functionally equivalent to Intersil’s X93154 50-kΩ digital potentiometer, with additional 10- and 100-kΩ end-to-end resistance values and a wider supply voltage range of 2.5 to 6 V.

The part also features a user-friendly up/down control interface. It is also available in 2 x 3-mm TDFN, TSSOP, SOIC, MSOP, and PDIP packages. ($0.75 ea/10,000—samples available now; prod qty, 6 to 8 weeks ARO.)
