Octal switch offers 4x ESD protection over competitive solutions
Ideally suited for high-end cell phone applications, the ISL54230 octal switch offers an ESD protection of greater than 8 kV — claimed by the company to provide 4x the ESD protection over competitive solutions. The part has high-speed (480 Mbit/s) and full-speed (12 Mbit/s) signaling capability per USB 2.0, and high-speed SIM Card, UART and PCM data-line switching.
Features include 8 individual SPDT switches, rail-to-rail analog signal switching, a 2.0 to 5.5-V supply range, and a –40° to 85°C temperature range. Its digital input are 1.8-V compatible when operated with a 2.7 to 3.6-V supply.
The ISL54230 is housed in 36-bump WLCSP and 32-lead TQFN packages. Its signal pins have been arranged in a “flow-through” manner to avoid signal crossovers on the PCB. When not in use, the chip offers dual output-enable controls for selective shutdown of switches. (Ea/1,000: WLCSP, $1.53; $1.40 — available now.)
