OMEGA Engineering was presented with the 2014 Best of Sensors Expo INNOVATION AWARD Honorable Mention Award for M12LCP Thermocouple Probes With High Temperature M12 Molded Connectors by Sensors Magazine . Mat Dirjish, Executive Editor of the magazine presented the awards at the Sensors Expo & Conference on June 26 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL.
“We were thrilled to receive so many nominations for this year’s awards on applications and innovations in the world of sensors, and to recognize excellence among engineers,” said Dirjish. “The nominations demonstrated exceptional innovation in engineering, applications, and sensor technology, and we applaud all of the winners and all the hard work they put in.”
A total of eleven awards were presented in four categories including Engineering Team of the Year, Rising Star Award, Application Award and Innovation Award. The Best of Sensors Expo award winners will be featured on the Sensors Expo and Sensors Magazine websites www.sensorsexpo.com and www.sensorsmag.com.
Measurement supplier Omega showed a number of temperature sensors that employed its new M12 connectors. Omega says M12 connections use thermocouple alloys through the connector and back through the socket to the measurement instrument. The cover material used on the connector is a liquid-crystal polymer designed to withstand high temperatures. The result is more accurate readings than when using non-compensated sockets, particularly at higher temperatures.
“Omega has been a market leader in providing temperature sensing and connection solutions globally for over 50 years. Our M12 connection-enabled RTD and thermocouple temperature sensor products build upon our previous success by providing our customers with industry leading products that provide higher temperature capability, thermocouple compensation end to end, a very robust and durable connection mechanism, and the same level of customization and customer service that our customers have come to expect. We look forward to expanding our market presence by continuing to introduce new and innovative sensor and instrumentation products that serve the needs of our customers.”-Ron Desmarais, Sr. Thermal Technology Engineer for Omega Engineering.
